TOP 7 forbidden words in Russian prisons

In addition to its own hierarchy, there is a special informal code of ethics in prisons.

It regulates the daily life of prisoners, introduces prohibitions and prescriptions. The set of rules also applies to the vocabulary used by prisoners. For uttering some words, a prisoner may face severe punishment.

Thanks

One of the most dangerous words in a Russian prison is “thank you.” The prisoners find it not only undesirable, but also offensive. It is forbidden to use it both orally and in writing, even when addressing relatives. Why did such a benevolent and harmless word end up on the “black list” of the prison vocabulary?

The fact is that in places not so remote, politeness (and even more so ostentatious) was always treated extremely negatively.

The use of “thank you” seems to the prisoners to be drawing, the desire to emphasize their intelligence, and therefore to put themselves above the rest of the convicts, who, for the most part, come from the social bottom.

Such prisoners experience something akin to class hatred for everyone who occupies a higher social position. The insolent person who takes it into his head to show his intelligence is quickly put in place by the jailers.

However, for the first time, they can do with a warning. If the newcomer continues to use the forbidden word, then his brains will be instantly set. The massacre can be extremely brutal, cases of self-harm are known.

What word should be replaced by “thank you” in prison? Correctly pronounce “sincerely”, “from the heart” or “thank you.”

Ask

Also on the list of the most unwanted words is “ask”. According to the code of ethics, the jailer should ask, not ask. Asking means to hold accountable for what you have done or to punish for the “jamb”.

A convict who uses the word “ask” risks running into a serious provocation. Other prisoners may answer: “Who do you want to ask, from me? Well, come on, try it! “This is how a conflict arises out of the blue.

Resentment

The list of forbidden includes the word “offense” and derivatives from it — “offend”, “offend” and others, and especially “offended”. In the understanding of convicts, to offend is to omit.

The “offended” are members of the lower caste of prisoners. If the prisoner is not satisfied with something, the word “upset” should be used.

Hear

The word “hear” sounds like “off the skis.” And those who turn to the prison administration for help with a request to transfer them to a safer cell get up on skis in prison.

Usually, a prisoner makes such requests if, for one reason or another, he does not have a relationship with his cellmates and his further stay with them may threaten his life and health. Such people in prison are called “skiers” or “skiers”.

Running from cell to cell is considered to be of little honor among prisoners. In addition, the prison “wireless mail” makes it clear why the “skier” was transferred from his old cell. As a rule, the “breakers” belong to the lowest prison caste, and therefore are humiliated by others.

A place

“Don’t you think that your place is near the bucket?” — this phrase from the film by Alexander Sery “Gentlemen of Fortune” has become a cult.

Entering the cell, the novice should never ask “where is my place?” Otherwise, he will immediately be shown the so-called dalnyak — a place by the toilet. The word “place” in almost every sense has a negative color on the zone. Therefore, entering the camera, you must ask: “Where can you fall?”

Prove

The word “prove” and its derivatives have, as a rule, an increased emotional color.

It is highly discouraged to scatter “loud” words in the zone, because in the future, in the event of changed circumstances, it will be extremely difficult to get away from the previously spoken words.

In addition, they prove according to prisoners’ concepts exclusively in court. And in prison it is customary to say “substantiated”.

Witness

Also, the word “witness” carries a negative meaning in the conclusion. Even if a prisoner saw something with his own eyes, then in no case should he call himself a witness.

They are not in prison, only convicts are sitting. Witnesses to the zone’s ethical code are, again, only in court. There are only eyewitnesses in prison.
